More than 30 years of moving Australian freight has shaped a fleet that covers just about every load — from a 1-2T van carrying a single pallet to a B-double carrying 34. Here is what each vehicle holds, and how to pick the right one for your job.
One fleet, seven vehicle classes, every mainland state
DSE Transport has the variety of vehicles necessary to help you move anything from small parcels to bulky equipment — and branches in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth to put them where you need them.
Our parcel vans and pantechs range in size from two tonnes to six tonnes with the capacity for up to 10 pallets. Light rigid utes and flats will carry similar amounts, while our heftier medium and heavy rigid vehicles take it up a notch with the ability to carry up to 14 tonnes and 16 pallets. If you are moving a large volume of freight, a semi trailer, B-double or tautliner will carry between 22 and 34 pallets in a single movement.

The body type matters as much as the tonnage
Two trucks of the same size can handle a load completely differently. These are the body types and loading accessories to weigh up when you book.
Walled pantech
A fully enclosed body. Choose a walled pantech when you want more security for your freight, or when the load needs to stay out of the weather.
Flat tray top
An open deck with no walls. Choose a flat tray top when you need flexibility for awkwardly sized items that will not fit neatly inside a pantech.
Tautliner
A curtain-sided trailer. For the highest strength-to-weight pallet ratio and convenient side curtain loading, look no further than the tautliner.
Tail lifts & cranes
No forklift at pickup or delivery? Our fleet has multiple tail lifts and cranes, and we can also manage hand load and unload. Tell us at booking.

Taxi Trucks
Choose this when: A one-off, ad-hoc or as-needed job where you want a truck and a driver, with no lock-in contract.

How many pallets can a B-double carry?
A B-double can carry up to 34 pallets, which is the largest load-out in the DSE fleet. A standard semi trailer carries between 22 and 24 pallets. If you are moving a large volume of freight in one movement, these are the vehicles to ask about.
What size truck do I need for six pallets?
A 1-4T pantech carries between 3 and 6 pallets, and a 4T medium rigid carries 6 to 8 pallets, so either will suit a six-pallet load. Pallet counts are a guide only — tell us the dimensions and weight and we will match the job to the right truck.
Do DSE trucks have tail lifts or cranes?
Yes. DSE Transport have a fleet with multiple tail lifts and cranes, and we also can manage hand load and unloads. Simply give us all the information on booking to ensure we match your job to the right truck and driver.
How long a load can a crane truck carry?
An 8T crane truck carries lengths up to 7m, a 12T up to 9m, and a crane-equipped semi up to 13.5m. Crane trucks are the usual answer when there is no forklift on site and the load is long or awkward to handle.
