Crane Truck Hire Sydney: the truck lifts its own load
No forklift, no dock, no plant on site? A DSE crane truck and driver picks it up and puts it down where you need it. 3 tonne to crane semi.
Crane trucks in Sydney, in plain words
A crane truck, often called a hiab, carries its own crane. The driver lifts your load off the tray and sets it down on site, so you do not need a forklift, a dock or a separate crane hire to take delivery.
We run 3, 6, 8 and 12 tonne crane trucks and crane semi-trailers out of our Minchinbury depot, across Greater Sydney and on to regional NSW and interstate. It is the same DSE service as our other trucks: one truck and driver for your job, milestone updates as the driver goes, and a photo proof of delivery when it lands.
Tell the Sydney team on 02 9725 3200 what you are lifting and what the site is like, and we will send the right truck.

Crane truck hire Sydney FAQ
What is a crane truck?
A rigid truck or semi-trailer with its own crane mounted behind the cab or at the rear, often called a hiab. The driver lifts the load off the tray and places it on the ground, so a site with no forklift, dock or plant can still take delivery.
What crane truck sizes do you have in Sydney?
3, 6, 8 and 12 tonne crane trucks and crane semi-trailers. An 8 tonne carries lengths up to 7m, a 12 tonne up to 9m and a crane semi up to 13.5m. Tell us the weight and size of the heaviest item and how far it has to be placed from the truck, and the branch will pick the right one.
Is the driver the crane operator?
Yes. The driver who brings the truck loads and unloads it with the truck-mounted crane. It is not a separate crane hire.
Can a crane truck go interstate?
Yes. Crane trucks run from Sydney to regional NSW and interstate, and our Brisbane and Melbourne branches run crane work regularly too. Call the Sydney branch on 02 9725 3200 to book a crane truck for an interstate job.
What do you need to know when I book?
Pickup and delivery addresses, what the load is, the weight and size of the heaviest item, and the ground and access at each end: overhead power lines, soft ground, slopes, and where the truck can park. That is how we send a truck that can actually make the lift.
Is my freight insured?
Your freight is insured while it is on our truck. Limits and an excess apply; ask the branch for the details.
